The Obverse features a depiction of the Sioux Native American Chieftain from the Oncpapa Tribe named Ta-to’-ka-in’-yan-ka or “Running Antelope” as seen on the front side of the famed 1899-series $5 Silver Certificate. This is the first time that this classic design has appeared on a legal tender coin.
The Reverse features a depiction of the famed Bison design as seen on the front of the 1901-series $10 U.S. Legal Tender note.
Each coin comes with an exquisite Brilliant Uncirculated finish that features a flawless, satiny finish. This striking process brings out every intricate detail of the Native American chieftain and bison elements as seen on the original U.S. currency notes they first appeared on over a century ago.
To further enhance the look, the silver coins will have a special “antique wash” added to them which accentuates the intricate details of each design.
Each coin has been certified by NGC in the perfect grade of 70 and authenticated with a special First Releases designation. This means it was received by NGC within the first 30 days of the program’s release.
