Quick Overview

Also known as the “Indian head” nickel, this coin is a copper nickel five cent piece struck by the U.S. Mint from 1913 to 1938. It was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser. The image on the obverse of the coin is actually a composite of several Native Americans, and the bison on the reverse of the coin is rumored to have been modeled after Black Diamond, a resident of the Central Park Zoo in the early 1900’s.

This roll of 40 coins can include dates between 1933 and 1938 and are guaranteed to have the full date visible.
