The Peace Dollar was first Minted in 1921 to commemorate the end of World War I and the peace that followed and are composed of .900 silver. It was the successor to the popular Morgan Dollar. Peace Dollars were last Minted in 1935, and at the height of the Great Depression, millions of these coins were melted for their silver content.
