Although this coin is commonly called the “Mercury” Dime, it is in fact the Winged Liberty Head Dime and the figure on the obverse is a representation of Liberty. These coins have not been produced in over 60 years, and are harder to find with each passing day! Minted between 1916 and 1945, the wings crowning her cap are intended to symbolize the liberty of thought. These coins are 90% Silver!
